Биография: El Salvador                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             El Salvador's bourbon coffee is known for its sweetness and balanced taste, with a pleasing soft acidity and overall harmony.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Coffee was grown commercially in El Salvador in the 1850s, and by 1880 it was the fourth largest coffee producer in the world. It became an important economic source and a major export crop for El Salvador. But when civil war broke out in the 1980s, production dropped and the market looked for other sources of coffee exports.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Although caffeine has the ability to excite the brain, if ingested for a long time, the brain will become difficult to excite, thus creating a dependence on caffeine. If it is in the state of having developed dependence, in the absence of caffeine, there will be various symptoms such as headache, sleepiness, loss of concentration, and the desire to vomit. Never take caffeine dependence lightly, it can have a detrimental effect on your health. Using a caffeine calculator can help you control your caffeine intake and thus avoid these adverse effects.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The civil war, however, had a positive effect on the quality of coffee in El Salvador. Instead of switching from native varieties to more productive varieties, as was the case in neighboring countries at the same time, El Salvador maintained a relatively high percentage of native bourbon coffee trees in the country. Coupled with the mineral content of the soil, which is dominated by volcanic ash, El Salvador produces excellent and promising coffee. But there is less organic matter in the soil, so farmers use processed coffee pulp residue, or organic matter from under the coffee plant, as fertilizer to make up for the lack of organic matter in the soil, so that the coffee plant can produce more flavorful beans.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             El Salvador still sometimes grades coffee by altitude, regardless of quality:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Strictly High Grown(SHG) is over 1200 metres above sea level                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             High Grown(HG) is over 900 meters above sea level                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The Central Standard is over 600 meters above sea level                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             In 1949 Don Alberto Pacas discovered a bourbon variety of coffee called Pacas on his estate. He then crossed it with the Maragogype elephant bean to create the famous Pacamara variety.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Roaster Coffees helps you learn more about coffee varieties.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             History                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             In the early 1990s, guerrilla warfare devastated the national economy, reducing coffee production from 3.5 million bags in the early 1970s to 2.5 million bags in 1990-1991. The eastern part of the country was most affected by guerrilla warfare, and many farmers and workers were forced to leave their farms. The shortage of funds has caused coffee production to plummet, from 1,200 kilograms per hectare in the past to less than 900 kilograms today.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             In addition, the government imposed an additional 15 percent tariff on coffee exports in 1986, which was on top of the existing 30 percent tax. The tax, combined with an unfavorable exchange rate, severely reduced coffee exports and, with it, quality. Recognizing the importance of coffee in the national economy, such as employment, foreign exchange and agricultural development, the government privatised part of the coffee export industry in 1990, hoping to increase coffee's share of the export market.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Online calculator: https://roastercoffees.com/caffeine-calculator/                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Beans are packed for export at Cuscacbapa in El Salvador. El Salvador's coffee, a Central American specialty, is light, aromatic, pure and slightly sour. Like Guatemala and Costa Rica, coffee in El Salvador is graded according to altitude, and the higher the altitude, the better the coffee. The best brand is Pipil, AztecMayan's name for coffee, which has been accredited by the Organic CertifiedInstitute of America.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             References:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             A Few Ways To Improve Your Breakfast Coffee                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Telecommuting Divides Coffee Market                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             How Many Processes Does Coffee Go Through From Seed To Cup?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Something About Coffee Culture
